Cedar Fork GROW Club
Guarding & Restoring Our World (GROW) Club at CFES is excited to take on projects that will help conserve & restore green space. Over the next few years we hope to restore native plants to the developed area around CFES. Habitat restoration for local butterflies and birds and a specimen collection area for Science classes throughout the school will follow. A vegetable garden for snacks and eventually use in the cafeteria will extend our green space. We plan to add tool shed, green house, and quiet retreat areas for reading, reflecting or reconnecting with nature. Our goal is to have at least two outdoor learning spaces for teachers to use with their students. Eventually a nature trail to connect all of the restored areas around the school. We would like this space to be a place were students, teachers, staff, and community members can go to have a positive experience with nature. The GROW Club would like to reach out to the community with weekend classes about various environmental topics: how to compost, making rain collection barrels, organic pest control for gardens, wonderful worms, & much more!
